| PURPOSE: The Saltville HOPE Coalition is organized for community change purposes. Its primary objective is to reduce the incidence of alcohol and drug use in the Saltville community. VISION: The Saltville HOPE Coalition is organized to create a safe and healthy community by eliminating or greatly reducing substance abuse and its impact, therefore, establishing a destiny of hope for all residents. MISSION: The Saltville HOPE Coalition is a non-profit organization working to prevent substance abuse and the subsequent devastation in our community by providing a healthy environment in which our youth may grow and flourish. We seek to change awareness, attitudes, and behaviors through ensuring access for youth and adults to a comprehensive array of education, prevention, treatment, after care, and recovery resources. GOALS: Inherent to the Saltville HOPE Coalition's purpose, vision, and mission, are the following goals: 1. Increasing community recognition and willingness to deal with the substance abuse problems in our community. 2. Provide recovery and redirection resources. 3. Create education and prevention programs for youth. 4. Decrease underage drinking, including age of onset, frequency of use, and perception of use by peers. 5. Decrease substance abuse and the effect of it on our community. 6. Create a sustainability plan for the Saltville HOPE Coalition. 7. Facilitate and sustain a healthy, diverse collaboration among agencies and organizations to address substance abuse issues. 8. Increase and maintain diversity among the Saltville HOPE Coalition members. |
